"Jamaican Lizard Cuckoo" is a new technique: painted birds, appliqued onto quilted backgrounds. This is my first, I'm almost finished with the 2nd, and anxious to start the third one!

It's 24" tall by 20" with a linen/cotton fabric print background, acrylic painted cotton.

"Saragassum and Jelly" is a 24" x 20" fabric collage wallhangind, pieced, appliqued and quilted. The poor Saragassum Fish is being harangued by the Jellyfish. The tentacles are specialty yarns, and the multiple bubbles are stitched on individually and the whole thing is quilted with metallic thread. It has a dowel and sleeve in the back making it ready-to-hang.

"Dolphins" is a wall hanging depicting two bottlenose dolphins jumping in a Caribbean Sea with a Tropical Island in the background, and a swirling blue sky and aquamarine water. I added glitter glue to the water to accentuate sparkling of water. It is pieced from painted cottons, appliqued and quilted, ready to hang with a sleeve in dowel on the back. It's 20" tall by 32" across.

unfortunately, the organizer didn't advertise, so, we had only a couple of people walking
through the "festival"...which, if you've ever participated in one of these fairs, you know
how disappointing that is because of all the work and expense in putting together your booth.

I call my new pattern for a straightforward little bag made with tapestry fabrics, "rectangle", which is lined with pockets. All of these new ones have similar technique but very different design...combining mass production with unique creativity. They are appoximately

OK, so I know I've gotten behind (but I have a good excuse...I got mono!)
So, here is the big make up art: a 95" x 100" quilt! Perfect for a queen size bed, but works for a king, just a little less hanging over the sides. It is made of velvet diamonds, with bright cotton borders and a fuchsia border all around.

"Wrinkle in Water Wisdom" is a wall hanging that I made for the 2011 Audubon exhibit in Dayton, Ohio. It is 56" tall by 27" across, with hand painted endangered Colorado River Fish (the Lake Chub, the Humpback Chub, the Razorback Sucker, the Pikeminnow, the Rio Grande Sucker, the Suckermouth Minnow, the Plains Minnow, the Northern and Southern Redbelly Daces, and the Bonytail Chub) all represented in this wallhanging. The fish are appliqued, the background quilted, and air bubbles (glass balls) and riverstones (painted rock) and river plants (twine) were added. The background is made from silk/linen, so it has a great watery/shimmery effect with the light.
