Day 356 Ocellated Turkey

"Ocellated Turkey" is the second painted bird, acrylic on white cotton, then appliqued onto the tapestry background, bobbin thread and free-motion quilt work.  It's 34" tall x 27". 

Day 355 Jamaican Lizard Cuckoo

"Jamaican Lizard Cuckoo" is a new technique: painted birds, appliqued onto quilted backgrounds.  This is my first, I'm almost finished with the 2nd, and anxious to start the third one!

It's 24" tall by 20" with a linen/cotton fabric print background, acrylic painted cotton.

Day 354 Mockeye Butterfly

"Mockeye Butterfly" is a pieced, painted, appliqued and quilted 19" x 19" fabric collage wall hanging.  It has a dowel in sleeve on the back making it ready to hang.

Day 353 Saragassum and Jelly

"Saragassum and Jelly" is a 24" x 20" fabric collage wallhangind, pieced, appliqued and quilted.  The poor Saragassum Fish is being harangued by the Jellyfish.  The tentacles are specialty yarns, and the multiple bubbles are stitched on individually and the whole thing is quilted with metallic thread.  It has a dowel and sleeve in the back making it ready-to-hang.

Day 352 Paper Ladies

"Paper Ladies" is a fabric/paper collage, layered, stamped, embossed, glued and stitched.  It's the first project of this type for me (thanks, Nanci, for the inspiration!).  It's 36" tall and 20" wide, hung with hemp rope and a bamboo stick.

Day 351 Snake in the Grass

"Snake in the Grass" is a 30" x 32" wall hanging, fabric collage ready to hang with dowel in sleeve on back.  It is pieced, appliqued and quilted, and lots of yarn and string embellished to emulate grass and horse hair.  The two equine beauties seem unaware of the snake in the grass.

Day 350 Dolphins Wall Hanging

"Dolphins" is a wall hanging depicting two bottlenose dolphins jumping in a Caribbean Sea with a Tropical Island in the background, and a swirling blue sky and aquamarine water.  I added glitter glue to the water to accentuate sparkling of water.  It is pieced from painted cottons, appliqued and quilted, ready to hang with a sleeve in dowel on the back.  It's 20" tall by 32" across.
